Our Story: Where a Dream Became a Community

Dolphin’s Academy School is more than a private educational institution—it is a dream that grew into a community, and a community that grew into a legacy.

Located in Barrio Monteseco, Playas del Coco, Carrillo, Guanacaste, Dolphin’s Academy School was born in 2005from a shared personal need among a small group of friends, mothers, fathers, and families. Their vision was simple yet powerful: to create a safe, loving space where their children could begin life’s journey by learning how to socialize, explore, and grow through joyful experiences.

That dream began humbly—on the terrace of the Alvarado Elizondo family home—where a teacher was hired to guide a small group of children through their first steps of learning and connection. What started as a solution for a few families quickly became something much greater.

As months passed, the group grew. So did the needs of the community. With unwavering love, dedication, and commitment, this initiative evolved into Centro Infantil Los Delfines (Dolphins Daycare Center). By 2010, it transformed into what is now proudly known as Dolphin’s Academy School—a solid, respected educational institution committed to excellence and international standards.

Today, Dolphin’s Academy School offers truly bilingual education, guided by professional educators, serving children from 1.5 years old in early stimulation through junior high school, and later expanding into high school education. It is a place where academic excellence, emotional development, and global awareness come together.

Expanding Horizons, Strengthening Futures

In 2014, with great enthusiasm and vision, Dolphin’s Academy School opened a secondary campus in a completely new building, ensuring continuity and coherence across all educational levels. This milestone marked a new chapter—one that allowed the institution to provide a comprehensive, success-driven education from preschool through high school.

Throughout its history, Dolphin’s Academy School has remained deeply committed to its families. Thanks to their trust and support, the institution has been able to grant numerous scholarships, with more than 50% of families receiving financial support at some point in their journey. These efforts have proven that when dedication, effort, and commitment align, dreams truly can be achieved.

Today, we are proud to say that 100% of our graduates are pursuing their dreams in national and international universities, building professional futures on the strong academic, ethical, and human foundations formed at Dolphin’s Academy School. For them, this institution has been more than a school—it has been a second home.

A Multicultural, Multilingual World Under One Roof

Since its inception, Dolphin’s Academy School has welcomed students, families, and collaborators from more than 27 countries around the world. We have taught English and Spanish to students for whom these languages are native, second, third, and even fourth languages. Our teaching staff has also reflected this global spirit, bringing together educators of diverse nationalities.

This cultural richness has shaped us into a multicultural and multilingual school that celebrates diversity, respects differences, and prepares students to thrive as global citizens. Social commitment, community support, environmental education, and solidarity with families are not add-ons—they are part of who we are.

Here, children and young people develop:

  • Artistic creativity

  • Sports and physical skills

  • Strong social and emotional intelligence

  • Collaborative learning abilities

  • Freedom to explore, create, and grow according to their interests and potential

Academic Excellence with Strong Values

Dolphin’s Academy School operates under its own academic and disciplinary regulations, while fully respecting:

  • The Regulations for the Evaluation of Learning

  • The Code of Discipline

  • All guidelines and policies established by the MEP (Ministerio de Educación Pública) of Costa Rica

This balance ensures structure, excellence, and integrity—while always placing the student at the center of the learning experience.
